W-Madalyn Kinsey

Madalyn Kinsey was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, and has lived and worked as a corporate attorney in Indianapolis, Chicago, and San Francisco. Even as a child, she started several manuscripts on the family’s Royal manual typewriter, but never found the necessary inspiration to complete them. She finally called upon her fond memories of frequent childhood visits with cousins on the family farm near Fishers, Indiana, where abandoned buildings, a Civil War-era graveyard only steps from the farmhouse (rumored to be haunted by a Civil War soldier), a mysterious creek running through the property, a nearby municipal airport, and a great tree house, made her real-life visits fascinating and full of adventure. Those memories have inspired the plots of her Vanessa Mysteries series. In each book, 14-year old Vanessa and her cousins and their friend, Jim, are swept into new and different adventures requiring courage and commitment to friendship and family. When not writing, Madalyn enjoys classic movies, ghost hunting, travel, art fairs, antiques, and Mid-Century music and pop culture.
